Careem is launching ‘Seeds For Gaza’ in Jordan, a community-led donations campaign supporting on-ground humanitarian relief and long-term rebuilding efforts in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan.
Through ‘Seeds For Gaza’, Careem is transforming its own identity into a symbol of solidarity, planting watermelon seeds directly into its logo across all platforms as a public expression of support backed by action.
Inspired by the Arabic language, where a single dot can shift meaning, the campaign reimagines these dots as watermelon seeds, a widely recognised symbol of Palestinian resilience. More than a visual gesture, the seeds represent continuity, hope, and a collective commitment to rebuilding lives on the ground.
Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and Co-founder of Careem, commented: “At Careem, purpose is not a campaign, it is a responsibility. ‘Seeds For Gaza’ reflects a belief we hold that meaningful change is built through consistent, everyday actions. When communities come together, customers, partners, and brands alike, even the smallest contributions can help sustain dignity, relief, and hope for the future.”
Farah Odeh, General Manager of Careem in Jordan, added: “In Jordan, we have seen how powerful collective action can be, especially during Ramadan. ‘Seeds For Gaza’ brings together our customers, partners, and broader community under one shared purpose. Whether through a small donation added to an order or by purchasing a campaign product, every contribution carries meaning and helps extend support to families in Gaza.”
‘Seeds For Gaza’ is designed as a campaign for everyone who stands with Gaza. It invites organisations across the region to take part by visibly adopting the campaign identity and backing their participation with donations supporting on-ground relief efforts in Gaza.
Through the Careem app in Jordan, customers can support the campaign in several ways. Direct donations can be made in-app through Careem’s donations platform, supporting trusted humanitarian partners working on the ground.
On Careem Shops, customers can also support ‘Seeds for Gaza’ by purchasing from our dedicated store featuring “Asli Ana” collection by Palestinian-Jordanian singer Zeyne, with 100% of proceeds going toward Gaza relief. In addition, customers can purchase exclusive Ramadan-infused olive oils by Ove Olive Oil, with 15% of all revenue donated directly to relief efforts in Gaza. In addition, more than 200 food partners across Jordan are participating in the campaign, making it easier for customers to donate when placing food orders.
Beyond donations, Careem has released the open-license ‘Seeds For Gaza’ typeface in Arabic and English, enabling individuals and brands to turn words into statements of solidarity by planting watermelon seeds into letters. The campaign also features a ‘Seeds in Your Name’ generator, allowing people to plant seeds into their own names as personal pledges for Gaza that can be shared across social media.
‘Seeds For Gaza’ builds on Careem’s broader commitment to enabling social impact through its platform. In 2025 alone, Careem facilitated over USD 700,000 in donations across the region, supporting emergency relief, education, and community initiatives.
The ‘Seeds For Gaza’ campaign is now live across Careem platforms in Jordan. Customers, partners, and organisations can participate through the Careem app to donate, plant seeds in their names, and support ongoing humanitarian relief efforts for Gaza.
