Amman – The preliminary data issued by the Central Bank indicates that the total remittances to the Kingdom increased by 4.5% in 2025, reaching $4,472.8 million, while remittances sent from the Kingdom rose by 14.2% to $1,768.5 million.
The data shows that remittances from the UAE ranked first among total remittances to the Kingdom at 21.8%, followed by the United States (18.9%), then Saudi Arabia (18.6%), followed by Qatar (9.6%), while other countries accounted for 31.1% of total incoming remittances.
As for outgoing remittances, it appears that Egypt represents the main destination for remittances sent from the Kingdom, accounting for 40.6%, followed by Bangladesh (10.7%), then the UAE (5.7%), followed by the Philippines (5.3%), while other countries accounted for 37.7% of the total outgoing remittances.
On other hand, tourism income increased in January 2026 by 4.1% to reach $708.5 million, compared to a 22.8% increase to reach $680.5 million in the same month of last year. This is attributed to a 3.2% rise in the number of tourists. Data shows that tourism income in January 2026 increased from European nationalities (56.9%), Asian (11.6%), American (16.0%), and Arab (3.0%), while it decreased from other nationalities (2.0%) and expatriate Jordanians (3.0%).
Data also shows an increase in spending on outbound tourism in January 2026 by 6.2%, reaching $196.3 million.
