This Ramadan, Careem Jordan saw a remarkable rise in demand across its services, with unique dining and delivery patterns reflecting how customers across the country celebrated the Holy Month.
When it came to Iftar, customers opted for warm, hearty meals with familiar flavors. The Fanoos Double Meal from “Shawema 3a Saj” was one of the top choices, while Stuffed Falafel from “Hamada” gained popularity as a go-to for breaking the fast, featured prominently in our “Sufra Essentials” picks.
Careem Food saw a significant spike in late-night orders, fueled mainly by Suhoor cravings. Top picks included the Arabi Box Double Meal from “Shawerma Aldayaa” and Broasted Chicken Combo from “Mashhoor”. As Eid approached, festive cravings kicked in, with a noticeable demand for Maamoul from “Habibah” as customers stocked up on traditional sweets to mark the celebration.
On Careem DineOut, Amman residents embraced the joy of eating out, with Tawlet Eat and Tom Yum emerging as the most booked Iftar venues. Many customers enjoyed significant savings by using DineOut offers multiple times at their favorite restaurants.
Careem Express also saw a noticeable spike in demand, especially during and after Iftar, as restaurants and dessert partners leaned on Careem for fast, efficient delivery of offline orders received through their channels.
Careem Shops experienced increased activity throughout the day, with double the orders placed around Iftar (3:00–5:00 PM). Overall, grocery order volumes more than doubled in March compared to February. Evening order peaks also shifted, moving from the typical 6:00–8:00 PM window pre-Ramadan to 3:00–5:00 PM during the Holy Month. Fresh produce and bakery items led the charts, with cucumber, tomato, and lemon topping the list.
Careem Box helped bring people closer during Ramadan. Many customers used the service to send home-cooked meals to loved ones just before Iftar, often at the last minute. As Eid neared, more users turned to Careem Box to send clothes to their tailors in time for the festivities. The service also played a significant role on Mother’s Day, with a remarkable surge in orders as people rushed to send gifts and surprises to the special women in their lives.
Careem Rides saw that the busiest time in Jordan during Ramadan typically occurred around 2:00 PM, when customers predominantly booked their preferred car types for daily commutes, and malls were also popular throughout the month. In Amman, popular destinations included Al Rabieh, Jabal Amman, Um Al Summaq, and Khalda, while in Irbid, popular destinations included Downtown near the Nabulsi House, Al Kamal Cafe, and Irbid Clock Memorial Square, as well as Al Hay Al Janoubi near Eimar Irbid Park, and Al Hay Al Sharqi around Al Zahraa Park, and Tariq Park.
Careem’s in-app donations service, Right Click, also played a meaningful role during the Holy Month, with a 240% spike in total donations to local NGOs and charities across the UAE, KSA, and Jordan compared to February, showcasing the spirit of generosity and giving back.
Careem’s commitment to community also came to life on the ground, with Careem volunteers actively distributing hot Iftar meals to Captains across various areas in Amman every day of Ramadan. This daily gesture ensured that Captains out on the road during Iftar time could break their fast with a warm meal, as part of Careem’s ongoing efforts to care for and support its frontliners.
