Amman – Daily Business : Gold prices rose at the end of last week’s trading sessions to historic levels, reaching $2,076 per ounce, since the abolition of the gold standard as a basis for measuring the strength of the economy, before closing at $2,072.
Thus, the yellow metal has breached the first resistance barrier, which is $2,075, as observers expected, while the second resistance level is at $2,360 if it continues the upward journey, which observers strongly expect amid global political turmoil and the weakness of the US dollar due to increasing bets on not raising interest rates.
The US dollar fell on the impact of statements by US Federal Reserve Governor Jerome Powell, in which he confirmed that interest rates on the dollar were good, amid significant progress in reducing the inflation rate.
Gold trading considered a safe haven for investors, especially in light of the fluctuations in the prices of major currencies and the prices of stocks and commodities in the global market.
In the local market, according to the Syndicate of Jewelry Shop Owners, the selling price of 24-karat gold reached 49.1 JD, 21-karat gold reached 41.9 JD, while 18-karat gold reached 37.4 JD
